Japanese KATAGAMI (Stencil paper) has been appreciated as rich and sophisticated design and collected in western countries since in the late 19th century.
Bold deformation with the motifs of nature and geometric pattern of KATAGAMI had been brought in the art and design reform movements in Europe such as the Arts and Crafts Movement.
In this exhibition, about 400 pieces of works with KATAGAMI from 70 locations of inside and outside of Japan are being displayed.
